Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School

Pay: £89–£95 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, term-time

Masterclass Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Chichester to recruit a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant. About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN/Inclusion team to provide tailored support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This includes in-class support, small group work, and one-to-one intervention for pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
You will be fully immersed in the daily life of the school and encouraged to take a proactive, caring approach, becoming a valued member of the wider support team.
Key Responsibilities

Support students’ learning, development, and emotional wellbeing

Provide 1:1 and small group support to meet individual learning needs

Assist students to access the secondary curriculum in a meaningful way

Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff

Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt activities and resources

Promote inclusion and ensure every student feels safe and supported

Support personal care where required

Help create a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people (SEN, education, care, or youth work)

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

An understanding of SEND or a genuine willingness to learn

The ability to work effectively as part of a secondary SEN team

A passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning
