RECFinancial are partnering with a successful manufacturing group to recruit an Assistant Group Accountant.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Financial Controller and wider Group Finance function, supporting the day-to-day finance function while gaining exposure to management accounts, statutory reporting, tax, and group accounting. It’s a role designed to stretch you, but with the right support around you.

What You’ll Be Doing (and Learning Along the Way)
You’ll be involved in the financial heartbeat of a multi-company manufacturing group, including:
Supporting monthly management accounts for three group companies, including consolidated accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
Handling day-to-day accounting activities, banking, sales and purchase invoices, recharges
Completing bank and intercompany reconciliations
Managing the finance inbox and responding to queries professionally
Supporting audits, responding to internal and external information requests
Acting as a key support to the Financial Controller and wider Group Finance team
Who This Role Is Likely to Suit
You don’t need to know everything, but you do need solid foundations and the right mindset.
You’ll already have:
At least two years’ experience in a finance role
A good grasp of core accounting processes (AP, AR, bank reconciliations)
Experience using accounting software
Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
The ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly
And just as importantly, you’ll be:
Studying, or keen to study towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA)
Curious, reliable, and comfortable asking questions
Someone who takes pride in getting things right
What’s On Offer
£27,000 – £33,000 study, depending on experience
Permanent role, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
