Summary for MEPH Design Assistant
The MEPH Design Assistant supports the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Hydraulic systems for new build residential developments, including apartments and townhouses. The role assists senior engineers with drafting, coordination, and documentation to deliver compliant and efficient residential building services designs.
This is an office-based role, working Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour for lunch.
Job Summary of MEPH Design Assistant

Use AutoCAD (and Revit where applicable) to view, update, and amend MEPH drawings for new build residential projects.

Assist in preparing residential MEPH layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, and typical unit details.

Support the design of residential HVAC, electrical power and lighting, plumbing, drainage, and domestic water systems.

Carry out basic design calculations, equipment sizing, and material take-offs under supervision.

Coordinate MEPH designs with architectural and structural drawings, ensuring alignment with apartment layouts and building constraints.

Assist with clash identification and resolution, particularly within residential ceilings, risers, and service zones.

Attend and participate in Microsoft Teams meetings with internal project teams and external consultants as required.

Assist with preparing design documentation, specifications, and schedules for residential developments.

Support the review of drawings, technical submittals, and RFIs under guidance from senior engineers.

Assist with site visits, inspections, and preparation of as-built drawings.

Help ensure compliance with residential building codes, energy-efficiency standards, and authority requirements.

Maintain accurate and well-organized drawing registers and project files.
Skills and responsibilities of the MEPH Design Assistant

Preferred qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

0–2 years of experience in residential MEPH design or a related engineering role.

Practical working knowledge of AutoCAD, including the ability to view, mark up, and amend drawings.

Basic understanding of MEPH systems in residential buildings.

Familiarity with BIM coordination and Revit is an advantage.

Comfortable participating in online meetings and collaborating via Microsoft Teams.

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to learn and develop technical design capabilities.
