Humly is working in close partnership with a Primary school to recruit a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil in upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5/6). This role starts on 12th January 2026 and is expected to run for the full academic year until July 2026.
The position will initially be mornings only, with a clear plan to increase to full-time hours as the child’s needs and school engagement develop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term, consistent role supporting a child with additional needs.
What You’ll Be Doing

Providing 1:1 SEN support for a pupil in a Year 5/6 setting

Supporting a child with Autism and ADHD to engage with learning and routines

Helping the pupil re-engage positively with the school environment

Supporting emotional regulation, focus and behaviour strategies

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans

Adapting approaches to meet the child’s changing needs

Ensuring the pupil’s safety, wellbeing and inclusion at all times
What You’ll Bring

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism and ADHD

Previous experience working within KS2 (ideally Year 5 or 6)

A calm, patient and adaptable approach

Confidence working 1:1 and building consistent, trusting relationships

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

A genuine commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Working Hours

School day: 08:45 – 15:15

Initial hours: mornings only, finishing at 12:30

Planned progression to full-time hours as the role develops
