The School unites over 500 experts in wide range of population health sciences including women and children’s health, life course sciences, nutritional sciences, Health AI, preventive medicine and the molecular genetics of human disease. Our research links the causes of common health problems to life’s landmark stages, treating life, disease and healthcare as a continuum. We are interdisciplinary by nature and this innovative approach works: 91 per cent of our research submitted to the Subjects Allied to Medicine (Pharmacy, Nutritional Sciences and Women's Health cluster) for REF was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. We use this expertise to teach the next generation of health professionals and research scientists. Based across King’s Denmark Hill, Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Waterloo campuses, our academic programme of teaching, research and clinical practice is embedded across five Departments. Our Guy’s campus in central London offers excellent teaching facilities, including a simulated hospital environment with access to ultrasound scanners, dissection rooms, a large modern library, digital education facilities, and the historic Gordon Museum of pathology (a unique learning resource found only at King’s). About the roleThe Senior Teaching Fellow lead the redesign, reaccreditation, and delivery of Obstetrics and Gynaecology teaching associated with King’s taught Postgraduate Clinical Ultrasound programme. The aim is that the programme offers more flexibility and Advanced Level clinical education in Gynaecology/Advanced Gynaecology Ultrasound and Advanced Obstetrics Ultrasound to meet a growing demand from healthcare providers for specialist ultrasound training.The post holder will be responsible for:The alignment of King's College London Clinical Ultrasound course with national NHS workforce strategies requiring dedicated gynaecology ultrasound services for endometriosis, cancer detection and ultrasound guided miscarriage/termination interventions. This post holder supports the programme in addressing NHS strategic priorities to improve early diagnosis and treatment of women’s health conditions using ultrasound.Reviewing and generating high-level clinical educational content incorporating latest research and evidence-based best practice. Providing expert clinical opinion and guidance to support external reaccreditation (CASE reaccreditation due in 2026-27).Leading Obstetrics and/or Gynaecology teaching strategies to facilitate innovation and technology adoption (e.g. use of simulation), while ensuring high standards and adaptability to growing student numbers.Building research capacity amongst Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (NM+AHPs), including delivery of research and education projects in the field of Clinical Ultrasound Education and Women and Children’s Health.Act as an exemplary professional role model through national contributions to the profession. The successful candidate should be well placed to support the course in navigating a challenging professional and educational landscape.This is a 0.6 FTE part time post (21 hours per week) and will be offered on a fixed term contract for two years from the start date.
