Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Reports to: Project Manager

Primary Purpose of the Role:
To support the Project Manager in planning, execution and monitoring projects, which includes administrative tasks like scheduling and reporting, coordinating with stakeholders, tracking budgets and managing project documents.
To carry out the role whilst ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Ensuring that high levels of productivity, attendance and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Project Planning and Execution:
Assist with Project Planning, Development and Implementation
Control or Manage Smaller Projects or Specific phases of larger Projects.
Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with Stakeholders to understand and communicate project needs, goals and progress.
Administrative Tasks:
Including (but not limited to) setting up meetings, preparing Invoices and quotations, monitoring and ensuring individual project financials are up to date and on target, Managing Operational Systems day to day (Trello, ERP systems etc).
Progress Tracking and Reporting:
Monitoring and Reporting on Project Progress including; Scheduling, Budgets and Resource Allocation. Often using Project Management Software (Microsoft Projects, Jira, Power BI etc).
Documentation & Organisation:
Maintain and organise all individual project documents, plans and reports.
Problem Solving:
Help to identify risks and issues within the individual customer projects, resolve project challenges and ensure projects stay on track.
Team Support:
Coordinate with team members, stakeholders, contractors and vendors / suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient operational project.
General:

Providing high standards of quality whilst promoting, building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.

Person Specification:
Essential:
Experience in project planning, execution and delivery.
Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Be comfortable with drafting reports, quotations, emails and other related documentation.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
PC/IT literate and be proficient in using standard Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Eager to learn and develop within a project environment.
Willing to undertake any relevant training/qualification to professionally develop.
Good commercial awareness.
Desirable:
Previous experience of working within the Rail Industry.
Previous experience in a Project Management role.
To hold a Project Management Qualification (APM, APFW, Prince2, Agile PM, MSP) etc.
Experience in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Trello, ERP systems)
