Job Title: Quality Assistant Manager
Location: HMP Belmarsh
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Role Overview:
As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in leading and developing a team approach to delivering high-quality education services to learners within HMP Belmarsh. Working closely with the Education Manager, you will oversee site performance and contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and contract delivery. Acting as part of the senior management team, you will ensure provision exceeds partner and learner expectations in line with our ethos of Improving People’s Lives. You will also deputise for the Education Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead on curriculum management and quality assurance within your area.

Support the Education Manager in day-to-day operations, including learner induction, class allocation, and conduct management.

Maintain and develop positive internal and external partnerships for the benefit of learners.

Drive innovation and problem-solving among tutors to raise standards and meet performance targets (recruitment, retention, achievement, satisfaction).

Set and monitor staff targets to ensure contractual obligations are met and exceeded.

Manage teaching and support staff using PeoplePlus HR strategies to maximise learner success and provision efficiency.

Attend meetings, cascade information, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Level 5 or above Teaching Qualification.

Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance (or willingness to work towards).

Evidence of continuous professional development and ability to lead an achievement-focused team.

Strong leadership and staff management skills with a persuasive and supportive approach.

Ability to identify and implement curriculum improvements aligned to learner and employer needs.

Innovative, proactive, and highly communicative with strong influencing skills.

Clear understanding of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Significant teaching experience and successful track record in managing curriculum development, quality systems, and staff performance to improve learner outcomes
