Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience

About the Role
A growing Gloucester based company is looking for a detail driven Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone who is AAT qualified or currently working towards AAT Level 3 and eager to continue developing their skills in a supportive environment. You will play an essential part in keeping the financial heartbeat of the business steady and precise.
Key Responsibilities

Support month end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments

Assist with maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciliations

Process invoices and support purchase and sales ledger activity

Prepare financial reports as required by the Finance Manager

Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial procedures

Assist with year end processes and audit preparation

Provide general financial administration and ad hoc support across the team
What We’re Looking For

AAT qualified or actively studying towards AAT Level 3

Strong understanding of accounting principles

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Confident Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software

Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive approach

Previous experience in a similar finance role is desirable
