Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Foundation Department at Slough and Langley College on a part-time, term-time basis.
Learning Support Assistant
This part-time Learning Support Assistant role involves working 22.5 hours per week on a 37-week, Term Time Only basis. The working days for this position are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week between 08:30 and 17:00. This role pays on scale G of the Support Staff pay scale between G16 £(phone number removed) and G19 £(phone number removed) (Full Time Equivalent G16 £24,098 to G19 £26,784).
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for enabling students at various college campuses to access the curriculum fully, assisting them in achieving their learning goals. Reporting to the Head of Department, the role involves working under the direction of educational staff to support teaching, learning, and related activities. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and evaluating learning activities, supporting both individuals and groups, maintaining confidential records, and collaborating with pastoral staff to help students overcome learning challenges.
To be successful in this role candidates should have a positive outlook, the ability to develop rapport with students and staff, and flexibility in working across different curriculum departments.
Essential qualifications include a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. Experience within educational or support environments is desirable, particularly in roles involving support for individuals with learning difficulties such as Autism and Dyslexia. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to student development and personal growth within the role are important.
This role requires adherence to college policies, such as the Diversity & Equality Policy, safeguarding and child protection, and data protection policies. It is crucial for the candidate to understand the college’s approach to risk management and health and safety. Evidence of qualifications and relevant experience should be demonstrated in the application form to be shortlisted for an interview.
