Learning Support Assistant
We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist setting in Barking and Dagenham. This role in Barking and Dagenham focuses on supporting high-quality education and training for learners aged 11 to 19, working as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils aged 11 to 19 with SEN, working closely with teachers as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Based in Barking and Dagenham, you will help students access education and training through structured, inclusive support.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students aged 11-19 with SEN
Support learners with complex needs to access lessons and daily routines
Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering adapted activities
Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning
Support students during transitions, break times, and unstructured periods
Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staffWhat's in It for You
