We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for a Secondary School in Lewisham. This is a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and providing excellent customer service to pupils, parents, staff, and visitors. This school is a specialist setting dedicated to supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs who are unable to attend mainstream school. They pride themselves on creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Rate: £15 - £17 per hour
Contract: Long term, ongoing
Hours: 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for all visitors and incoming calls, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
Manage the school's reception area and maintain security protocols for signing in and out.
Handle general administrative tasks, including managing emails, filing, and updating records.
Support the wider admin team with tasks such as scheduling appointments and preparing documents.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures at all times.Key Skills/Experience:
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role is essential, preferably within a school.
Previous experience within a SEND/SEMH school would be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
