*Job Overview*
We are looking for a highly competent Vehicle Technician with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience across a wide range of vehicles. The ideal candidate will be confident using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service vehicles efficiently and to a high standard.
This role is vital in ensuring every vehicle leaving our workshop is safe, reliable, and prepared to the highest standard.
*Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic & Repair Duties*
* Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical manuals
* Perform routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, filter changes, and fluid checks
* Repair and replace faulty components (brakes, suspension, clutches, timing systems, engine parts, etc.)
* Conduct MOT preparation work (if applicable)
* Complete vehicle health checks with accurate reporting of findings
* Use manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic tools to identify and repair faults
*Mechanical & Workshop Tasks*
* Assemble and refit components and systems as required during repairs
* Undertake repairs on automotive equipment and workshop machinery
* Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely, using correct technique
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
* Adhere to all health & safety policies and workshop procedures
* Move vehicles safely around the site
* Carry out any additional workshop duties as needed
*Essential Criteria*
* Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Automotive Engineer
* Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad range of makes and models
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
* Full UK driving licence (manual)
* High attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable, punctual, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment
*Desirable Criteria*
* Experience in a dealership or main workshop environment
* Familiarity with brands such as VW, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, or similar
* Knowledge of specialist diagnostics and manufacturer systems
