Role Overview:
We are seeking a resilient and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a young person with additional needs in a school setting. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualised support to a young person with complex needs, working as part of a 2:1 provision.

Implement strategies outlined in the pupil’s EHCP and behaviour plan.

Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development in line with school policies.

Use Team Teach techniques to manage challenging behaviour safely and effectively.

Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes engagement and progress.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure continuity of care.

Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and interventions.
Essential Requirements:

Team Teach training (current certification).

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

Strong behaviour management skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
-
Experience working in a special school or alternative provision.
-
Knowledge of autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.
