As part of the continued growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic Accountancy and Finance team.
The right person would be an Accounts Assistant who thrives on both numbers and people. This role is split evenly between credit control (50%) and data analysis/reporting (50%), offering the perfect blend of responsibility, collaboration, and ownership. You’ll be the kind of person who doesn’t just “do the job” but makes the role your own—bringing confidence, curiosity, and an engaging personality to our finance team.
The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in managing and improving the company’s cash flow by ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external clients to maintain strong relationships while ensuring financial targets are met.
Credit Control (50%)
Manage debtor accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
Build strong relationships with clients to resolve queries and maintain positive rapport
Monitor credit limits and escalate risks where necessary
Prepare aged debt reports and provide insights to management
Data Analysis & Reporting (50%)
Work with large datasets using pivot tables and advanced Excel functions.
Support the finance team with forecasting reports and variance analysis
Collaborate across Finance, HR, and Commercial teams to provide meaningful insights.
Present findings clearly, helping the wider business make informed decisions.
Collaboration & Ownership
Act as a key link between finance and other departments, ensuring transparency and accuracy
Take ownership of the accounts assistant role, shaping processes and driving improvements.
Contribute ideas to enhance reporting, efficiency, and team performance
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in finance support roles.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Confident communicator—comfortable engaging with colleagues and clients alike
Proactive, adaptable, and eager to take responsibility
A personality that brings energy and positivity to the team
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., V lookups, data manipulation, Sage, Xero, or similar)
A proactive and solution-focused mindset.
