*Veterinary Surgeon – Full or Part-Time*
*Independent | Expanding | Clinical Freedom | Community-Focused*
_*Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire*_
If you're looking for more meaning in your work, more say in how you do it, and more space to breathe—this might be exactly the role you've been hoping to find.
We’re Kerr Vets, a proudly independent, family-run practice in Bridge of Weir. We’ve been trusted by our community since 1988 and are now in the midst of an exciting expansion, creating a larger, purpose-built space to support our growing caseload—while staying true to the values that have always made us who we are: Delivering quality, affordable veterinary care, and creating a workplace built on trust, respect, and clinical freedom.
We’re seeking a Veterinary Surgeon (full or part-time) who wants to work in a place where they’re truly valued—by clients, by the team, and by the people who run the practice.
*Why Join Us?*
* *Family-Run Since 1988*: Trusted by generations of local pet owners—no shareholders or targets here.
* *Big Changes, Same Heart*: We’re midway through an exciting expansion to create a brighter, larger clinical space with all the tools you’d expect—ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental suite and in-house labs.
* *Work That Works for You*: Full-time, part-time, school hours? Let’s talk. We value flexibility as much as you do.
* *Clinical Autonomy*: You’re a vet—we trust you to make the right calls. No scripts, no upselling. Just medicine.
* *Supportive, Down-to-Earth Team*: No drama. Just people who genuinely care—for each other, the pets we treat, and their owners.
* *True Community Practice*: We offer affordable care without cutting corners—because pets deserve it and people appreciate it.
*What We’re Looking For*
* A qualified MRCVS vet who loves being a general practitioner
* Confident in consulting, surgery, and working up cases independently
* A team player with a positive, solution-focused mindset
* Open to collaboration, growth, and the odd good-natured laugh
*The Extras*
* Competitive salary depending on experience
* Generous CPD budget and support for developing special interests
* 6 weeks holiday (incl. bank hols)
* No out-of-hours (OOH), minimal weekends (shared Saturday rota – 230pm finish)
* Workplace pension + employee perks
*Location Perks*
Bridge of Weir is a charming village a short distance from Glasgow with leafy surroundings, great coffee, countryside walks, and an easy commute into the city. The best of both worlds.
