Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant:
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying on top of the details and keeping a business running smoothly. Your day-to-day will involve:
Purchasing & Supplier Management (80%)
Raising and managing purchase orders end-to-end
Verifying supplier bills and matching them to POs
Communicating directly with suppliers to negotiate pricing etc.
Monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishments
Assisting with stock takes and ensuring accurate purchasing records
Purchasing for multiple offices — with a particular focus on our Bedford team
General Administration (20%)
Supporting the Financial Controller with varied admin tasks
Helping with insurance, telecoms, ISO documentation, and reporting
Managing office supplies (including food shopping for each location!)
Organising uniforms, processing DBS checks, and handling small facilities tasks
Liaising with landlords and suppliers for building maintenance issues
What You’ll Bring:
Experienced in a purchasing environment (essential)
Comfortable owning the full purchasing cycle
Confident communicating with suppliers at all levels
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
Strong with numbers, data accuracy, and record-keeping
Competent with MS Office and digital tools
Qualifications:
GCSE Maths & English (C/4 or above) – essential
Three additional GCSEs – preferred
Willing to work towards AAT Level 3 (we’ll sponsor you!)
