A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Strood is seeking a caring and confident Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil who needs guidance with their learning journey and help with regulating frustrations.
About the Role
Full-time, long-term position starting January 2026
Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil
Assisting with early learning skills, activities and classroom engagement
Using calm, nurturing approaches to help the pupil manage their emotions
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
Helping to create a positive, structured learning environmentAbout You
Experience working with children in EYFS/KS1 (SEN experience essential)
Patient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure
Skilled in supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Creative in encouraging participation, progress and independence
A strong team player with excellent communication skills
