A specialist school in Cheltenham is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to support pupils aged 4 to 19 with profound learning difficulties (PMLD). Many students also have additional physical, sensory, or communication needs, and require consistent, structured support throughout the school day.
About the Role
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require a high level of individualised support. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
Supporting communication through specialist methods (training provided)
Helping with sensory-based activities and structured routines
Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staffWhat the School Is Looking For

Eager to learn and develop within a specialist settingExperience with SEN, care work, PMLD, or supporting non-verbal children is an advantage but not essential. Graduates in Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, Education or similar fields are encouraged to apply.
