We are looking for a motivated Trainee Shot Peen Operative to join our clients aircraft landing gear Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) team.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to start their engineering career, learn new skills, and work in a hands-on technical environment.
You will receive full training to safely operate shot peening and grit blasting equipment used on aircraft landing gear components. You will work within strict quality, health, and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Learn the principles of shot peen and grit blasting.
Assist experienced operatives with setup and operation of equipment.
Learn to interpret work orders, drawings, and technical documents.
Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
Follow all safety procedures and keep your work area clean.
Support overall workflow, including supplying parts to other departments.
Carry out other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.
Education & Qualifications
Ideally an engineering qualification
Experience & Knowledge
Experience in an engineering environment is preferred.
Understanding of health and safety requirements.
Shot peening or grit blasting experience is desirable, but not essential.
Personal Qualities
Keen to learn and follow guidance from experienced team members.
Positive attitude toward training and developing new skills.
Able to lift/carry materials and stand for long periods.
Commitment to workplace safety and manual handling best practices.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ovens, and machinery.
You must have the full right to live and work in the UK.
Shift: Double days
Week 1: 6am - 2pm
Week 2: 2pm - 10pm
Salary from £24,290 + (£3,920 shift allowance)
