*Role Overview*
As a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), you will work with patients who have a neurological injury, using evidence-based principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
You will be highly competent in the management of acquired disorders of communication and swallowing; and an in-depth knowledge of the physical, psychological, and emotional consequences of acquired disability and difficulty.
You will work collaboratively within the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure a comprehensive and patient-centred service, utilising integrated working to optimise outcomes.

*Band / Pay Rate:* Broadly equivalent to Band 6 (£32,306 - £39,027 based on experience) per annum

*Hours:* 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7
*Location / Travel required:* Hildenborough, Tonbridge, Kent
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Managing a caseload of patients who have complex presentations, using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* To complete comprehensive assessments and use information accordingly.
* To contribute to care planning and rehabilitation treatment planning.
* To work with patients and team members to identify goals and develop treatment plans in accordance with these goals; and to ensure regular review of goals during admission.
* To utilise outcome measures to monitor progress and optimise effectiveness of interventions.
* Provide advice and support to junior SLT colleagues, including clinical supervision.
* To contribute to regular reviews in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and at planned review meetings; and to provide comprehensive and accurate reports as required.
* To contribute to the training and development across the wider staff group.
* To contribute to discharge planning, including liaison with community teams.
* To ensure all clinical records are maintained to the HCPC and RCSLT standards.
*Framework and Boundaries*
You will report to the SLT Lead, and work collaboratively within the Interdisciplinary Team to offer a comprehensive, patient-centred service.
You will work within the Groups policies, procedures and professional practice guidelines to maintain accurate and comprehensive up to date records and uphold professional standards as outlined by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
You will use an extensive range of verbal and non-verbal communication skills to engage effectively with patients and their families, so as to gain consent and active participation in treatment, within the legal framework with those clients who lack capacity to consent.
You will contribute to hospital-based audits at the discretion of the Head of Therapies
