Starting Salary: £45700 - £55240 per annum plus benefits To find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the role Intellectual Property Strategy Officer is a role in a successful team supporting the commercialisation of Imperial\'s inventions and new technologies. You would join us in our efforts to encourage and facilitate researchers in \"making a difference\" by finding solutions to real-world challenges. Imperial is a leader in technology transfer and has a mature and sophisticated profit-sharing scheme in its incentives for encouraging academic innovation. You will be an integral member of Imperial\'s Enterprise Division , and will work as a key service provider for supporting Imperial\'s intellectual property policies and services. Come and join the Intellectual Property Strategy Team and play a role in running the services which enhance the university\'s beneficial impact on society whilst also navigating the Government\'s research security regimes designed to ensure the safe dissemination of university ideas, technologies and inventions on the global stage. What you would be doing Managing the systems, processes, notifications and licence requests necessary to comply with the Government\'s research security regimes relating to export control licensing and national security and investment notifications; Verifying and managing the Reward to Inventors Scheme distribution of commercialisation revenue to the researchers who created the technology; Facilitating the transfer of the Intellectual Property (IP) which Imperial has chosen not to commercialise to inventors wishing to pursue commercialisation in their own personal capacity; Conducting due diligence on student IP disclosures and issuing IP clearance letters. What we are looking for are a highly motivated individual with a passion for managing effective policies and practices to encourage university innovation and facilitate a new technology\'s journey to solving real-world problems; would like to further develop your career in providing dedicated administrative support for senior staff in a large and complex organisation; have significant experience in data and systems management. This post requires a range of skills and aptitudes including diligence and determination to see projects through. You will need to demonstrate experience and ability in competencies including relationship management and project management. Ideally, you will have worked in an HEI, research or Industry setting and have an understanding of research security.
