Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

The Software Development Group (SDG) at Jisc strives to provide a friendly and fun working environment that prioritises work/life balance and technical excellence. Scrum masters may work with a broad range of teams, but all with the same purpose: to deliver working software. We believe in agile principles, and the scrum master plays a critical role in facilitating developers, testers, product owners, service managers, designers, and others in their pursuit of agile delivery.
Responsibilities will include:
• Facilitating with a broad range of teams and stakeholders, sometimes within an uncertain and turbulent environment.
• Promoting agile ways of working, both with development teams and the wider business.
• Working with Product Owners, helping them to manage their vision and requirements in an agile manner.
• Working with development teams, facilitating the delivery of quality software using simple processes.
• Supporting the full development lifecycle; Jisc has many products at all stages.
• Unblocking development teams and resolving issues.
Key Skills and Experience:
• In-depth knowledge of scrum values, processes and practices.
• Ability to support Product Owners with the creation and management of an agile backlog.
• Able to run Scrum events and activities, such as sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
• Inventive, sourcing new ideas, solving problems and facilitating others to do the same.
• Able to lead and motivate teams.
• Certified ScrumMaster or certified Agile Coach is ideal.
