Pure are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Cambridge Finance Division as they embark on an exciting Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) Project which is highly significant and will have a University-wide impact. The project forms part of an overall Finance Transformation Programme (FTP).
We are currently recruiting an Interim Payroll Manager which will enable the current Payroll Manager to be dedicated to the project, this role is part of the payroll department within the finance division and will be an 18 month contract.
The role of the Payroll Manager is to ensure all salaries and taxable payments are processed to a strict timetable and will oversee the correct authorisation of payments to limit the potential of fraudulent requests. The post holder is responsible for the integrity and processes of the payroll system including functionality and internal and external policy changes.
This is a hands on position and we are looking for somebody that is comfortable producing manual calculations and supporting the team with the day to day processing where required. This role is responsible for 6 members of staff who together pay approximately 24,000 employees which are paid over 7 payrolls and 3 pay frequencies within the University, so experience of dealing with volume payrolls in a management capacity is essential for this role.
In-depth knowledge of current and past payroll legislation and procedures including year end processes is essential.
