Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Assisting with VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks.
- Managing a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Supporting the preparation of tax computations for clients.
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolving queries.
- Assisting senior accountants and managers with ad hoc projects as required.
- Using accountancy software, including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and other cloud-based tools.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
- AAT qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience (study support available for further qualifications).
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
- A proactive and professional approach to client service.
