Wildlife Security Specialist - Phalaborwa - Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment
The Private Game Reserve in Limpopo Region requires a skilled Security Risk Practitioner to maintain its integrity and safety. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in this endeavour.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage anti-poaching strategies to protect the reserve's wildlife, guests, and staff.
- Coordinate with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR) and other authorities for effective security measures.
- Provide emergency wilderness first aid as needed to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain compliance with security regulations and standards (PSIRA Registered) to uphold the reserve's reputation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in firearm handling and possess relevant certification for security tasks.
- Conduct fire prevention and firefighting activities to prevent potential threats.
- Perform general maintenance tasks as required to maintain facilities and equipment.
- Maintain and repair security electric fences to prevent unauthorized access.
- Utilize drones for surveillance and monitoring purposes to enhance security and conservation efforts.
Desired Requirements
- Proven experience in anti-poaching operations and formal training in security/anti-poaching/Coin ops.
- Familiarity with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR) for coordination with relevant authorities.
- Certification in emergency wilderness first aid for critical care in emergencies.
- Competency in firearm handling and possession of relevant certification.
- Tracking qualification (Man tracking preferable) for effective wildlife tracking.
- Dog Handling skills for canine-assisted security and conservation efforts.
- Valid Driver's Licence (preferably with PDP) for safe operation of vehicles and equipment.
- Experience in fire prevention and firefighting for threat response.
- Proficiency in general maintenance tasks for facility and equipment upkeep.
- Ability to maintain and repair security electric fences.
- Experience in drone usage for enhanced security and conservation.
- Background in environmental studies or strong reserve management experience.
