Duties & Responsibilities
- The job focuses on design and development of railway construction projects, requiring the development of civil construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and design standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other construction professionals to validate design feasibility and ensure alignment with client project specifications.
- Utilize working knowledge of CAD software and other engineering tools to refine construction project designs, including the creation of 3D models and animations using CAD, Civil 3D, and BIM software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the viability of proposed designs and construction techniques.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project and contract documentation, encompassing design reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance of construction projects with statutory and regulatory requirements, while upholding safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
- Work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of construction projects, adhering to defined quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings, presenting recommendations to senior project management team members.
- Conduct regular project team meetings, providing guidance and support to multi-disciplinary team members.
- Maintain transparent communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of project progress and any adjustments in project planning or milestones.
Skills & Experience
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- At least ten years’ experience.
- Five of the ten years post professional registration (Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng) should be in planning, preparing/managing designs and delivery of civil infrastructure scope within multi-disciplinary projects including bulk earthworks, roads, drainage networks, including Construction Management experience.
Qualification
- BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Civil).
