Medical Receptionist, Pietermaritzburg
Our client, a Pulmonologist in Pietermaritzburg, is seeking to recruit an experienced medical receptionist.
Requirements:
- Manage the switchboard
- Run an efficient diary and appointment schedule for the doctor and a clinical technician.
- Keep patients informed if the Dr is running late and manage service delays professionally.
- Receive patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Capture patient information and scan and file documentation accordingly
- In-house payments and receipting
- Various administrative tasks
- Liaison with medical bureau for billing submissions
- Maintain a positive patient experience
- Attend to stocktake requirements
- Maintain a clean and professional reception area
Qualification:
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification
- At least 2 years' experience as a medical receptionist
- Experience in a medical practice is essential
- English & Afrikaans (verbal & written)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Hardworking
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
- Computer literacy and high attention to detail
- Must be able to multitask
- Excellent communication and listening skills
Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 08h00 - 17h00
