Our client located in Mount Edgecombe is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the flow of goods from the point of order to delivery, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of each shipment. They will work closely with internal and external teams to monitor shipments, maintain inventory levels, and respond to customer and vendor inquiries. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management : Oversee distribution and shipment budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Shipment Tracking : Coordinate with transportation partners to monitor the movement and progress of shipments.
- Purchase Order Review : Verify purchase orders for accuracy and update with critical information, including shipping dates, estimated time of departure (ETD), and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
- Customer & Vendor Communication : Respond to inquiries regarding order shipping and movement, providing timely updates to both vendors and customers.
- Inventory Coordination : Work closely with the warehouse team to manage and adjust inventory levels as required.
- Documentation and Reporting : Utilize MS Office tools (Excel and Word) to maintain accurate records and reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service.
- Qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or similar .
- Technical Skills : Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word) and familiar with standard ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP).
- Supply Chain Knowledge : Solid understanding of the supply chain, including common challenges and problem-solving techniques.
- Key Skills : Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple purchase orders simultaneously.
