What We’re Seeking
The ideal candidate for the SQF Coordinator role is and experienced and detail-oriented professional in food safety and quality management. This individual possesses a robust background in overseeing comprehensive FSQ programs. They are adept at ensuring that all FSQ programs meet and exceed internal, customer, state, and federal requirements, with a desire to work across departments to continue to improve our food safety programs.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Oversee FSQ plans for all E.A. Sween Facilities (SQF, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality, Food Fraud, Disaster Plans)
- Complete internal audits and annual validations for all E.A. Sween facilities, including the annual SQF program review.
- Assist plant FSQ Managers with quarterly verifications and validations as needed, ensuring they meet completion deadlines.
- Manage updates to all FSQ Standard Work in conjunction with FSQ Managers, ensuring all required changes are recorded, and that the document is accurate.
- Schedule and attend all SQF and other applicable regulatory audits
- Work within the existing CAPA framework to manage corrective actions resulting from internal or external audits
- Review and trend customer complaints. Assist in complaint investigation when necessary.
- Monitor FSQ related CAPAs for appropriate completion.
- Act as backup Recall Coordinator and lead annual mock recalls.
- Work cross-functionally to develop and maintain FSQ systems, and assist in training development.
- Assist with development of training materials for FSQ and Operations team members with relation to SQF, HACCP, and other food safety or regulatory topics.
- Stay apprised to changes in state, local, and federal regulatory and SQF requirements as they relate to FSQ and EAS business
- Manage document requests from the sales team and external customers.
- Assist the Supplier and Regulatory Manager with maintenance of the Approved Supplier Program and other backup activities as required.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
- BS in Food Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of SQF management experience.
- HACCP and SQF practitioner certifications required; PCQI certification preferred.
- Experience with HACCP and FSMA principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel 5-10% as needed for audits.
- SQF Internal Auditor certificate preferred, or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments for periods of time.
