Accountant with practice experience
Brackenfell, Cape Town R30 000 to 40 000 PM
UK Based Accountancy firm seeks a Qualified Accountant, who has worked for an Accounting practice for min 3yrs, servicing SMMEs on Xero.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
- Monitor and manage company budgets and forecasts.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Able to prepare accounts on Xero.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Minimum of 3yrs recent Accounting Firm experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems, Xero qualified.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid Xero experience.
