Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Develop and implement production schedules to meet operational and market demands
Monitor daily production activities to ensure efficiency and productivity
Analyze operational data and adjust plans to optimize output
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure all operations comply with safety and environmental regulations
Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety audits
Investigate and report incidents, implementing corrective actions
Team Leadership:
Supervise and manage production staff, including miners, engineers, and support teams
Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and mentor employees to enhance skills and performance
Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace environment
Resource and Equipment Management:
Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of mining equipment and machinery
Plan and allocate resources, including manpower and materials, to ensure uninterrupted operations
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Prepare and manage budgets for production operations
Monitor expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or safety
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare production reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior management
Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and compliance activities
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field
Relevant certifications in mining safety and operations (e.g., Mine managers Certificate) will be advantageous
Minimum of 10 years in coal mining operations, with at least 6 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Experience with underground or surface mining methods
Strong knowledge of coal mining processes and technologies
Familiarity with mining software and equipment maintenance systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and cost management
Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems
