JOB DESCRIPTION
As a UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating seamless and intuitive high-quality user experiences across Santam Client Solutions' digital platforms. Your key responsibilities will include designing UX solutions, conducting comprehensive usability testing, and actively participating in design sprints to drive innovation. You will lead the development and implementation of a new Client Solutions Design System, ensuring consistency and scalability across our offerings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate product requirements into user experiences by creating wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups using industry-standard tools like Figma.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions through detailed mockups, prototypes, storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and data analysis to ensure user satisfaction and business goals are met.
- Provide input on enhancing styling principles, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders, to gather and evaluate user requirements.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in UX design deliverables.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Client Solutions Design System, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design processes across all digital products and platforms.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of platform and device requirements, including form factors, screen resolutions, pixel density, and aspect ratios.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A degree in Design, Interaction Design, Visual/Multimedia Design, or a related field is preferred.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or certificate/diploma in Design from an industry-recognized training institution would be advantageous.
- Over 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a proven track record of leading successful design projects from concept to launch.
- Experience in Mobile and Web application UX/UI design.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Prior experience working in Agile and Scrum teams.
SKILLS
- Deep understanding of UX design principles, including information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.
- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for creating prototypes and wireframes.
- Knowledge of various user research methods, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics interpretation.
- Strong visual design skills, with a good eye for aesthetics, typography, and colour theory.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify user pain points and propose innovative solutions.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in fast-paced environments.
- Empathy towards users and a commitment to a user-centric design approach.
- Basic project management skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
