Insurance Compliance and Contracts Manager (Law degree + Caseware + Sage Intact), Centurion, R500 – 1.2k ctc
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Law Degree
- 5 years’ post degree experience
- Certificate in area of Governance, Risk and Compliance.
- King Code on Governance Principles for South Africa.
- CaseWare.
- Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Sage Intact (Advantageous)
Responsibilities:
To ensure that the CLIENT adheres to legal standards and in-house policies, enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters.
- Periodically review and enhance compliance programmes to comply with regulatory and organisational requirements and objectives.
- Conduct and oversee internal reviews or audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed; provide advice and training where non-compliance is identified.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to review, modify (if applicable), and implement organisational policies.
- Conduct or direct internal investigations of compliance issues.
- Inform, educate, and train employees on matters associated with regulations and industry practices.
- Review and enhance plans to effectively manage a crisis of compliance.
- Stay up to date with internal standards, regulatory developments both within and outside the organisation, as well as evolving best practices.
- Work with external and internal auditors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and business partners.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Discuss compliance issues with the Head of Compliance.
- Ensure and verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated to all stakeholders.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as required.
Contract Management:
- Act as custodian of all contracts between the CLIENT and third parties.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate contracts.
- Prepare, draft, revise, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and other relevant parties.
- Update records and documentation related to contracts.
- Review and assess risks associated with contracts.
- Ensure proper contract management throughout projects.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Ensure that all contracts due for renewal are presented to the Head of Contract Management in a timely manner for careful consideration of renewal or market options.
