Some experience working with machinery or in a production environment would be beneficial.
Shift Patterns Available:
4 Day shift – Mon to Thurs 6am to 6pm
4 Night shift – Mon to Thurs 6pm to 6am
Weekend Day shift – Fri to Sun 6am to 6pm
Weekend Night Shift – Fri to Sun
Role Purpose
To produce thermoplastic raw materials to an agreed specification and quality standard in the safest and most efficient manner.
To undertake primary recording to the required standard to ensure that accurate and meaningful information is available.
Objectives
1. Operations
1.1 To ensure that production equipment is set up and run safely in order to achieve the required quality at optimum capacity.
1.2 To deliver raw materials to the machines safely and efficiently, and to remove finished product from the machines in the same manner.
1.3 To account accurately for all materials being used.
1.4 To set and control the production equipment within the agreed requirements for the polymer being processed.
1.5 To inspect and provide samples for laboratory testing for colour and quality as necessary.
1.6 To pack material safely into the required packaging, ensuring it is correctly marked.
1.7 To monitor machinery and materials (including packaging) to ensure that product leaving the Department is of an acceptable quality.
1.8 To advise the Team Leader promptly of any quality concerns.
1.9 To ensure accurate and timely completion of all departmental paperwork and relevant updating of the LISA stock control data base.
1.10 To clean down a machine as directed to the level of cleanliness required by the next job.
1.11 To conduct agreed maintenance checks of equipment, fork trucks, etc, and report any concerns to the Health & Safety Manager or Shift Leader.
1.12 To communicate clearly and concisely the required information to ensure a smooth changeover between shifts.
1.13 To aim to reduce downtime on all machinery and to improve quality.
1.14 To train less experienced operators as required by the Team Leader using the established training system.
2. General
2.1 To carry out housekeeping as required by the 5S system of working, keeping the areas under your control safe, clean, and tidy.
2.2 To report to the Team Leader and Health & Safety Manager promptly any safety concerns, dangerous occurrences, or accidents.
2.3 To report all spillages to the Team Leader and take agreed action as a result.
2.4 To carry out all agreed safety and maintenance checks in a timely manner.
2.5 To report any damage or malfunctioning machinery to the Team Leader and take appropriate action as directed.
2.6 To attend and participate fully in Team Meetings
