Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial accounts by ensuring accurate debtors, creditors, and general ledger.
- Oversee the management reporting process.
- Oversee the compilation of Annual Financial statements.
- Act as liaison with external auditors.
- Responsible for payroll input (financial) and accounting, including:
Ensure tax and other statutory compliance – i.e., Income Tax, VAT, WCA.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
Diploma in Accounting or NQF equivalent.
Experience
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in the use of accounting software and spreadsheets, with 5+ years in a supervisory role.
- Experience handling a range of routine financial activities, such as payroll, billing, and support to accounting clerks and administrators.
- Experience managing large volumes of routine financial transactions in payroll and handling associated documents.
- Experience in the preparation of documents for all SARS submissions and declarations, as well as pension fund documents.
- Financial reporting to trial balance level.
- Proficient in Sage300 Payroll Software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong payroll accounting skills.
- Analytical thinking.
- Interpersonal, team, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead, guide, and mentor.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions under pressure.
