A well established bank is looking for an Executive: Business Finance (Reporting to the Group Chief Executive), who will provide strategic direction in the management of loan assessments, pre-investment support and post-investment support in order to ensure that clients are able to effectively establish, manage and grow their business.
The Executive: Business Finance will:
•Develop and lead the implementation of the Business unit’s strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures.
•Direct loans and projects relevant to business loan applications and pre-investment support services.
•Direct loan post-investment support services.
•Build effective strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure growth of the business unit.
•Manage Capex and Opex to ensure financial sustainability.
•Manage human capital through effective performance management and employee development and empowerment related to the business unit.
The following minimum requirements should be met to be considered:
Qualifications:
•Post graduate qualification in Finance/Business Management/Commercial Law or an equivalent post graduate qualification.
•MBA will be advantageous.
Experience:
•8-10 years’ experience in a financial institution (banking, development finance and economic development of which 5-7 years should be at a senior management level.
Requisite Functional Competencies:
•Computer literacy in Ms Office package.
•Knowledge and experience in financial planning and forecasting.
•Knowledge and understanding of Public Financial Management Act.
•Knowledge of corporate governance principles.
•Knowledge of risk management concepts, frameworks and methodology.
•Knowledge of credit risk assessment, due diligence and financial modelling.
•Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. Banks Act, FAIS, FICA and NCA.
•Knowledge of financial management and investment packaging.
•Knowledge of fraud prevention strategies.
