Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 10am to 2pm (Mon to Fri)
Role Summary:
Our client is currently looking for a nursery chef to work with the team to ensure balanced organic and healthy meals for the children and to maintain good kitchen and hygiene standards.
Job Details:
- To prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals daily for the children.
- To monitor and review menus, suggesting changes as necessary.
- To ensure all children’s dietary requirements are catered for in line with parental and medical guidance.
- To supervise lunchtimes, encouraging children to try a variety of foods.
- To ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy.
- To ensure all food and hygiene regulations are adhered to.
- To order catering supplies and cleaning materials as and when required, ensuring use is monitored to reduce unnecessary costs.
- To purchase general items as and when required by the nursery.
- To maintain and record appropriate records, including stock records and adhering to budgetary requirements.
- To ensure all kitchen equipment is sterilised.
- To be familiar with and adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures at all times.
- To be responsible for Health and Safety.
- To communicate with parents, staff and visitors in a friendly and effective manner.
Requirements:
- Must have Level 2/3 Food Hygiene.
- 1 year minimum experience.
- Ability to manage a kitchen & support staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
