The Lexis plus team is a dynamic, goal-oriented cross-functional team divided into front end, back office, and (search and AI) functions. They operate across different cities and work closely with global team members from the US, France, and India to deliver the most advanced yet elegant research platform for the legal market in South Africa.
About the Role
As a Consulting Software Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to guide management and lead multifunctional development teams in tackling intricate challenges. Your role will involve spearheading designs of large projects, devising innovative solutions to complex problems, and serving as a trusted authority in your field.
Responsibilities
- Providing design input across a product
- Acting as an acknowledged 'go-to' person on coding and technical issues, for both internal and external contacts
- Interfacing with other personnel or team members to finalize requirements
- Completing complex bug fixes, and resolving technical issues
- Designing and working with complex data models
- Mentoring lead software developers interested in consultancy in development methodologies and optimization techniques
Requirements
- Have a BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Have 10 years Software Development experience
- Be expert in development languages, including JAVA/C#/Python, JavaScript, Angular 2, SQL, and .Net
- Have experience in partnering with and leading internal and external technology resources to solve business needs
- Have excellent knowledge of test-driven development and maintenance, including techniques for applying best practices
- Have great problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement effective solutions
