As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. This role requires a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
● Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles in accordance with company standards and road safety regulations.
● Adhering strictly to agreed shift patterns to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
● Executing deliveries to HGV-friendly locations with precision and care.
● Performing trailer swaps or overseeing live unloading and reloading processes, as per individual customer requirements.
● Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed and maintained for each journey.
● Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to guarantee roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
● Representing DPD professionally at all times, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanour with customers and colleagues.
● Promptly reporting any incidents, delays, or issues to the relevant supervisors or managers.
● Strictly adhering to all relevant traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
● Participating in ongoing training and development programmes to enhance skills and stay updated with industry best practices.
