Role
We have a great opportunity for a person to learn to make seats for saddles used on horses. Absolutely no experience is necessary, but you will need to enjoy working with your hands, like variety and have pride in what you do. Full training will be given with the opportunity to develop further skills over a period of time.
The business is in a rural location, in a Kent village on the outskirts of Canterbury with poor transport links. It's important you have your own vehicle and driving license.
Duties and responsibilities
In the role you will working with leather, foam, staplers and glues to shape and prepare all component parts which requires patience and an eye for detail. You will need to have a careful and pedantic attitude about the quality of your work and enjoy working as part of a team whilst also being responsible for your own work.
The job requires great care and precision and in addition to preparing components involves assembling small parts, using a sewing machine, various hand tools and polishing leather.
Skills and experience
Must be hands on and prepared to learn.
You will be working to accurate patterns with tight tolerances.

The process: If successful after interview you will be invited to spend a day with the company. This is to see if the company live up to your expectations, that the location is viable (must have own transport) and that you fit in with the company culture.
Hours: Monday to Thursday - 40 hours a week. The company work a 40 hour week over 4 days instead of 5. These hours can be worked between the hours of 7am and 7pm (your choice)
Paid Holiday equivalent to 21 days plus bank holidays. Salary according to experience and capability.
