Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Packaging Development Manager to lead the development of compliant, efficient, and sustainable packaging solutions across our customer base. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and ensuring our packaging meets the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the Group and ISS packaging strategy, anticipating customer and consumer trends.
- Align priorities to support changes in UK packaging legislation, waste management infrastructure, and business requirements.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with packaging suppliers and waste management handlers.
- Lead the packaging development process from customer brief to production trialling and launch.
- Collaborate with ISS customers and retailer packaging teams to accelerate innovation.
- Manage the packaging supplier and material specification approval processes, ensuring compliance with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards.
- Track and report on the impact of packaging development on production, cost, recyclability, and carbon emissions.
- Identify and implement improvements in existing packaging processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong report writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in food packaging development.
- Proven track record of bringing packaging innovations to market.
- Recent experience working with major food retailers.
