Qualifications - High school diploma/GED.
- Six (6) years of experience in accounting or related field.
Key Responsibilities - Provides maintenance for various aspects of recording and reporting financial transactions for departments of the City.
- Reviews, analyzes, corrects, and monitors all items pertaining to cash in compliance with established cash management policies.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and that the City's financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting procedures.
- Work in this class is performed with a sub-professional working knowledge of governmental accounting practices and policies in interpreting procedures, recording, and reporting transactions, and preparing financial records.
- Work is subject to automatic and periodic verification through systems of internal controls, pre-audits, and post-audits, and to supervisory review for conformity with established policies and procedures.
- Reviews and investigates returns, chargebacks, positive pay notifications, and customer payment requests.
- Perform other related duties as required.
