About the Role
- The Team Leader supervises our Front of House operations and cafe staff to ensure efficiencies and a consistent, high-quality food and beverage product and customer service experience - which exceeds our guests' expectations.
- Working with the Head of Department for training your team and supporting them in their role.
- Having regular check-ins with your team and taking feedback on board.
- Preparing and serving food and beverages for consumption on the premises.
- Taking customers' food and beverage orders.
- Organisational skills.
- Support the Food & Beverage Head of Department when requested.
- Liaise with Kitchen Leaders about daily operations, menus, service and assist as required.
- Working with the purchasing team to ensure a robust stock management process is in place.
- Working with the team to carry out small and large scale events.
- Participating in stocktakes and assisting in putting away new stock.
- Cleaning cafe equipment such as coffee grinders and espresso machines.
- Operating cash registers, accepting payments and preparing sales invoices.
- Ability to jump in and assist in any aspects of the department operations when required.
- Clearing away used dishes and cutlery from tables when customers are finished.
About You
- At least three years of experience in a supervisory role within a Hospitality environment.
- Outstanding customer service and leadership skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume or multi-outlet cafe, restaurant or bar.
- Solid understanding with Point Of Sale including cashiering & end of day reconciliation.
- Experience with creating staff rosters to labour budget and managing the operation to meet varying business levels.
- Awareness of NZ Food safety standards & Food Control Plan requirements.
- Be committed to creating a Health and Safety Culture.
- Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol - LCQ and Managers Certificate is desirable.
- A degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is desirable.

- Payrate: $29.66 per hour.
- Full time, minimum 30 hours per week, fixed term.
