Our client, a large and prestigious business undergoing a period of change and transformation, is seeking an Interim Head of FP&A on a 12-month ongoing contract. The consultant will work to support the company in achieving financial excellence and supporting strategic decisions.
The role will be to collaborate with the Group FD, CFO, and Board to provide critical thinking skills and help develop, build, and execute financial strategy. This will involve navigating multiple and changing priorities, including managing cost pressures and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
Location: West Midlands (2-3 days p/w onsite)
Contract length: 12 months +
Candidate Rate: 700- 800 per day (outside IR35)
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of FP&A
- Develop and lead the positioning of financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting performance with the Finance teams.
- Utilise expertise to produce 5-year plans, annual budgets, and rolling 18-month forecasts.
- Organise and direct measures to evaluate productivity, quality, and customer service strategies.
- Research and recommend the appropriate technology and processes to deliver and manage successful implementation.
- Produce timely and meaningful insights, reports, and projections using robust, accurate, and validated data sets.
- Review and develop the commercial evaluation of new business and product opportunities across multiple jurisdictions to ensure alignment with company strategy and financial goals.
- Provide accurate reporting on new opportunities and develop a robust sales pipeline, generating sound business cases for Board approval.
- Provide high-standard expertise, strategic partnering, and financial analysis support to executive and SLT stakeholders.
Requirements of the Interim Head of FP&A
- CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualification are highly desirable.
- Experience working in a large corporate/blue chip organisation.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience in supporting & partnering with senior and C-suite business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
