SmartPro are working with a global leader in providing high-technology engineering services. They are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join the team in the Bristol area. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on approach to environmental, health & safety control, arrangements & documentation across the site.
Responsibilities for the Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor:
- Leading by example & championing EHS on a day-to-day basis.
- Serving as the point of contact for all EHS matters & advising those with delegated EHS responsibilities.
- Taking a pragmatic approach to EHS challenges solutions.
- Preparing, reviewing & updating internal & external EHS policies & documentation in consultation with relevant personnel (eg safe operating procedures, risk assessments, work permits).
- Confidentially coordinating the health surveillance programme, analysing reports.
- Leading incident investigations in conjunction with responsible persons.
- Administering existing safety accreditation, progressing to ISO 14001 & 45001
Requirements for the Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor:
- NEBOSH General Certificate essential; NEBOSH National Diploma preferred (or equivalent).
- Experience in a manufacturing,engineering or warehousing environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills with very high attention to detail & strict confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task, anticipate and respond effectively to changing priorities.
- High standard of written & verbal communication, with a confident & professional phone manner.
- Comfortable working autonomously.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
