Summary
My high-profile Utilities client is looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join their team Based at their Warwick offices (2 days a month on site) on an initial 12-month contract with chance of extensions.
Our client, a leading company in the utilities industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to join their team. As the Commercial Contracts Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end contractual life cycle and supplier relationships. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Shape the commercial contracting strategy for our client's interconnectors business.
- Act as the key commercial contact for the HVDC Engineering Team, providing support and best practises in Contract Management.
- Support the development of contract management maturity and improvement across the supply chain.
- Conduct audits of the supply chain to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the business budget, including risk and contingencies across projects.
- Serve as the lead commercial representative on spot tenders or framework awards for HVDC Engineering.
- Ensure contract compliance and provide assurance and training to the HVDC Engineering team.
- Provide quality assurance of contracts and deliver cost evaluation pre-contract.
- Offer independent reviews and advice on complex variations, as well as support the process of escalation and dispute avoidance/resolution.
- Provide support and data to the HVDC Engineering Team for board and regulatory reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in contract management in a construction and/or operational environment, including warranty management.
- Strong commercial acumen and supply chain management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desired Skills:
- Basic understanding or appreciation of Coupa and/or other invoicing and payment systems.
- Understanding or appreciation of FastDraft and/or other contract management systems.
