We are looking for an Assistant Treasury Manager to be based at our Head Office in Durban.
JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Treasury Manager's primary objectives are to elevate the company’s financial standing while mitigating risks. The incumbent will oversee the company’s capital, ensuring it meets obligations and making prudent investments with surplus funds. Key functions include cash management, liquidity management, cash forecasting, and investment management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team of treasury staff members
- Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Streamline processes and improve efficiencies through team training and technology
- Review bank reconciliations to ensure compliance with SOP
- Treasury reporting relating to the business
- Review daily bank reconciliations prepared by stores and follow up on queries
- Prepare, capture, and reconcile all data related to the cashbook on a daily and monthly basis
- Import daily bank reconciliations and reconcile on Sage
- Maintain and monitor cash flow reporting and forecasting, ensuring liquidity
- Analyze and perform appropriate hedging and funding activities
- Maintain investment records and prepare expense and earnings forecasts
- Assist stores with any banking-related queries
- Capture all EFT payments and load banking details
- Ensure that all relevant treasury department information is stored and updated to Knowledge Base
- Liaise with Financial Institutions for queries
KEY SKILLS
- Relevant degree and minimum of 3 years experience
- Knowledge of SAGE 300
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective management skills
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously
