The Test Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the Systems Engineer, initially focusing on aircraft powerplant projects. This role will involve assisting with testing, integration, and possibly analysis of data. As the technician gains experience and expertise, they will transition to overseeing the powerplant acceptance process and supporting the engineering team in maintaining system configuration during development and the introduction of new powerplant options. The technician will also be a bridge between the system engineer, design engineer, and AME’s.
Design and Analysis:
Utilize CAD software (Siemens NX) to create 3D models and 2D drawings.
Collaborate with other engineers to ensure design integrity and compliance with industry standards.
System Integration:
Understand the integration of mechanical, electrical, and software systems within the powerplant.
Assist in the development of system tests.
Support the troubleshooting and resolution of system integration issues.
Manage the data acquisition system for the engine facility and flight platform.
Manufacturing and Production:
Understand manufacturing processes and tolerances.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability.
Support the development of manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
System Oversight:
Support the engineering team in maintaining system configuration during development and the introduction of new powerplant options.
Collaborate with the design and integration teams to ensure system integrity and performance.
Candidate Requirements:
BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
2-3 years of industry experience, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
Experience with power plants, thermodynamics, or propulsion systems is advantageous.
Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Siemens NX.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and testing techniques.
Experience with data analysis and programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tolerances.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
