Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Reservoir Engineering Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of reservoir management and optimization within our client’s oil and gas operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, developing reservoir management strategies, and ensuring the efficient use of resources.
Key Responsibilities: Reservoir Management: - Lead reservoir analysis and simulation studies to optimize production and recovery rates.
- Develop and implement reservoir management plans, including enhanced recovery techniques.
- Monitor reservoir performance and recommend adjustments to production strategies.
Team Leadership: - Manage and mentor a team of reservoir engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and training to meet project goals.
Field Development Planning: - Oversee the preparation of field development plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide input on well placement, drilling strategies, and production optimization.
Data Analysis & Reporting: - Analyze reservoir data, including pressure tests, production logs, and well performance metrics.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
Collaboration: - Work closely with geologists, production engineers, and other technical teams to integrate reservoir data into broader project strategies.
- Collaborate with external consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Innovation & Technology: - Stay updated on the latest advancements in reservoir engineering technologies and apply them to improve operations.
- Drive innovation and implement best practices to enhance reservoir performance and sustainability.
Compliance & Risk Management: - Ensure all reservoir engineering activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is advantageous).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel).
- In-depth knowledge of reservoir management techniques and enhanced oil recovery methods.
- Familiarity with South African regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
