Requirements & Qualifications
Instructor Duties:
- Develop and conduct training programs on UAV Ground Control Stations, including operation procedures, software interfaces, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.
- Deliver hands-on training sessions to educate personnel on GCS setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Create instructional materials such as manuals, presentations, and simulations to enhance learning outcomes.
Technician Duties:
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of UAV GCS hardware and software components.
- Ensure GCS systems are operational and comply with performance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical issues and improve GCS functionality.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and certification outcomes.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on GCS maintenance, repairs, and operational incidents.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during training sessions and GCS maintenance activities.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to UAV GCS operations and safety.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Aviation, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in UAV operations, with specific expertise in Ground Control Stations.
- Comprehensive understanding of UAV GCS hardware, software, telemetry systems, and communication protocols.
- Previous experience in instructional roles, conducting technical training preferred.
- Certification in UAV operations and maintenance is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training purposes.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technology and training methodologies.
- Familiarity with South African aviation regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in using simulation software and other training aids for UAS instruction.
- Problem-solving abilities and the capability to adapt training approaches to meet client-specific needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
